This is an R2D2 cake built by my wife for a co-worker’s grandson’s birthday. I think it’s awesome. It was also only her fourth sculpted cake since she started baking them.
His legs were not edible, unfortunately. They were formed from wood and screwed to a 3/4″ plywood base. This was all covered with fondant. The cake consisted of the whole body and head.
If you notice, this R2 even came with a front light that really lit up. That was the hit of the party.
