Coolest Mickey Mouse Cake

Thank you to Shari C. of Pawtucket, RI! I used her idea for the face and ears. I made a 6″ yellow cake for the ears and 8″ chocolate cake for the face. After frosting the ears with white frosting and the face with chocolate, I crushed chocolate cookie wafers and covered everything with the crumbs.

Then I made a cardboard stencil for the face and cut it out of fondant (mixed with flesh coloring). I used white fondant underneath for the eyes and I piped on the details of the face with frosting. I filled in the rest black and red with gel.

I made this for my friend’s daughter’s 4th birthday party. It was a big hit! Thanks for this wonderful website and the forum to exchange great ideas!

  2. The cookies are a great idea! I want to make this for my son’s 1st birthday smash cake and I really wanted to try not use black icing! Thanks for sharing!
