I really wanted to make a special cake for my daughter’s first birthday and she really loves Mickey Mouse and since I love watching cake shows on TV, I decided to give fondant a good ‘ol try. Unfortunately I’ve never worked with fondant and the materials are all so pricey I didn’t want the cake to be, well not great, so I decided to make a practice cake so I knew what I would be getting myself into.
I love arts and crafts things so I thought it would be a piece of cake lol… well let me tell you fondant isn’t as easy as it looks and takes lots of time.
I bought two different size pans for the ears and head of this Minnie Mouse cake and bought that confetti cake mix. I’m not that great at baking.
The most fun I had was mixing color into the fondant, I forgot to buy gloves so my hands looked purple afterwards.
I really loved making this cake and I know everyone liked it but it really takes a long time to do.
