My son really likes Pokemon, so I decided to make him a Pikachu Birthday Cake. While I was researching, I saw some Pikachu cakes on this site. They no longer sell this particular cake pan at the store, so I bought it off eBay.
The cake itself is just a chocolate cake recipe I found in a Southern Living cook book. The frosting is all buttercream. Black and brown were the hardest colors for me to achieve. Looking at the cake now, I wish I had made the brown for the tail and back of the mouth darker. I used the step-by-step instructions provided by the Wilton website.
My birthday boy enjoyed it and I was pleased with the way it turned out!
I ordered the same pan from someone on Ebay only they waited a long time to ship it. I need it by Saturday to bake a cake for my Grandson. Any chance you could overnight it to California?
