This Polar Bear Baby Shower Cake was my second attempt at fondant. I really love it and have learned that I will only use Satin Ice Fondant unless in a really tight pinch and I don’t have any. This was for my sister-in-law and new niece Sara. My sister-in-law loves polar bears so we went with that theme for the shower.
I put the cake together at my house and then took it to my mom’s house where the wire stand was. It really bothered me that the way I put it on the cake plate it didn’t line up dead even on the stand. Also, my 2 year old daughter thought it would be fun to poke her finger in several places while I wasn’t looking. I wasn’t planning on so many bear paws but they were necessary.
