This Rapunzel Birthday Cake was a special request from my cousin’s daughter. It is chocolate and strawberry cake with BC frosting and fondant.
I purchased the doll, but wasn’t too sure if I could re-create her gown. It was only the second time I made a Barbie type of cake. The cake itself had two layers of chocolate cake and two layers of strawberry cake. I used BC frosting and a MMF, which I tinted to match the doll’s original gown. I hand painted the flower design on the front.
I pretty much surprised myself with the turn out. I actually had to wrap her hair all up in plastic wrap in order to dress her, but I got it done quickly. The birthday girl was so excited, and didn’t want to cut into it.
