Coolest Rubber Ducky Cupcakes

This was my first attempt at cupcakes for anything other than myself and my husband. I made these rubber ducky cupcakes for my sister-in-laws baby shower.

I made a batch of yellow cake and a batch of chocolate cake. I filled each cupcake liner with 1/2 yellow and 1/2 chocolate cake so they would have a layered look.

I used my piping tube to pipe the icing in a circular motion with a large star tip. Then I used blue sugar crystals to sprinkle on top.

I bought a rubber ducky shaped candy mold and used yellow chocolate candy melts. I used a pretzel as the stem so they would stand up properly. You can make the duckies ahead of time and just keep them in the fridge for when you are ready to serve. I made these a week in advance, but they looked like I just make them that day and tasted like that too!

They were fun to make, super easy and delicious!

  1. This is adorable! I’m also doing cupcakes for my baby shower as well. Can I ask where you got the cupcake tower? I’m having a hard time finding one made out of metal that holds this many cupcakes. Thanks!! :)
