Coolest Winnie the Pooh Cupcakes

My niece wanted Winnie the Pooh cupcakes for her birthday this year.

I found a set of Winnie the Pooh character cookie cutters from the store which were ideal for making the fondant toppers for the cupcakes. I cut the basic shape of the characters out of the fondant with the cookie cutters and added details like their eyes, mouth etc with appropriately coloured fondant.

To make the bee, I rolled out a small yellow bean shape and added dark brown strips of fondant. Then I cut 2 tear drops of white fondant for the wings. Eyes and mouth were then drawn on. Similarly the honey pots were made with brown fondant and yellow fondant added at the top to resemble flowing honey.

These toppers can be made before hand and kept in a cool dry place. This was what I did. They were then placed onto the cupcakes when needed. The toppers took a while to make, but the effect was great, especially after the cupcakes were arrange on the Wilton cupcake stand and given designer photo shots by my brother-in-law.
