For this diaper cake, I rolled approx. 3 boxes of size 1 diapers. (I always tend to use size 1’s because from my own experience, my kiddos were in that size the longest)
I wanted this diaper cake to be big and grand, to make a statement, so I decided to use pillars with dowel rods down the middle for stability. This shower was for a boy, so I chose to do the bolder colors rather than soft ‘baby’ colors.
Everything on the cake is hand painted (including the pillars) so I could ensure all the colors would match perfectly.
I took a pic of the mommy-to-be and put it in the picture frame, and also an ultrasound pic for a special personal touch. The onsies I found on Etsy and thought those were a cute addition, and also something that could actually be used rather than just purely decorative pieces. :-)
