I made this cake for a fete at a nursing home which takes place this Saturday.It is an all butter Madeira sponge cake which has been layered with jam and buttercream, then crumb coated with buttercream. i covered it with fondant which i coloured to a pink marble effect. I made the roses by modelling them from petal paste without using cutters and stuck all decorations on with royal icing. i am pleased with the result and hope the cake helps to raise funds for the nursing home.
