I made this cool New Year’s Eve cake with some help from my boyfriend. I started with two small cakes that I covered in frosting. The next step was to place a layer of white fondant on each cake. At this point I was able to make a cut in the larger cake that I would later put the mini sparkling cider in to.

I then used edible color to make the cake gold, and I used edible black paper to line the bottom of the cake. To make the ball  I took a popcorn ball and covered it in fondant and sprinkles. The rest of the designs and words I piped on to the cake and I created a clock that was about to stroke midnight. That cake was fun to make and it was nice to have an assistant however I don’t think he will be ready to deal with my stressing over all the details again for a long time.
