Cool Baptism Cake

I loved making this cake for a friend of ours little girls baptism

She asked me for a vanilla sponge bottom tier and a chocolate sponge top tier so that’s what I baked, before baking the cake I needed to make the flowers so they would dry out I made assorted sizes of the same flower in white flower paste and when they had hardened I coloured the centres with a pink glitter and then piped a small pink ball in the centre of each flower, I made approx. 30-40 flowers

When the cakes were cold I filled the vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream and jam and then covered the whole cake in the butter cream and placed in the freezer to chill I now coloured some icing in pink enough to cover the two cakes, I now rolled out enough icing to cover the larger cake and placed it onto the cake board before covered it.

I now mixed some chocolate butter cream and filled the chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream and jam and then covered the whole cake with the rest of the chocolate butter cream I then chilled in the freezer for a while, mean while I rolled out the rest of the icing and then covered the cake and before attaching on the top of the larger cake I pushed four wooden dowels into the bottom cake for support I now mixed some royal icing in a pink and piped around the base of the two cakes I now set aside overnight to harden.

They bought the cross off e bay so I attached this to the cake first and then worked around this adding the flowers one by one until the desired effect was achieved

I now mad a white scroll out of flower paste and left overnight to harden and then I wrote on a message using a edible marker.

They loved it
