Homemade Karate Birthday Cake
The quickest and easiest cake I have ever baked and decorated- it was a big hit at his party! My son Davey was a Ninja for Halloween 2009- when he turned 7 January 2010 Davey had just earned his yellow belt so I decided to do a Karate Birthday Cake for his birthday.
I used his picture from Halloween to make the head of the cake, a friend had given me a "Big Top Cupcake" for Christmas. I thought that a cupcake with some extra icing to level the top would make a perfect torso- I was right!
I used the big top cupcake mold with chocolate cake- off white icing for the shirt, white icing for the collar, and of course yellow for the belt. The 5x7 picture of him was the perfect touch!
