Coolest Pink Castle Cake Design

I made my niece Tristan a Pink Castle Cake Design for her birthday last year, and this year when her younger sister Trillian was having a party she wanted one too. So that’s how this castle cake came to be. I couldn’t make it the same, every cake has to be a little different and special.

I used marshmallow fondant instead of frosting, and this is the first time I had ever worked with it before. Also her sister’s was a round castle (gathered from ideas on this site) I made a square cake this time. I used ice cream cones for the turrets, as before. Everything is edible 100%. I think it took about 1 1/2 maybe 2 boxes of cake to complete. It did sag and fall after being moved across town to the party, but that’s only because I failed to use anything to stabalize it like dowels or cardboard between the layers, so I would defintely not do that next time.

I bought a cake cardboard from a craft store to carry it on, and I decorated that a little with candy rocks and piped some grass on. I found the princess candles at Wal-Mart and thought that was perfect! She really liked it, and so did all the other kids. If I could change a few things I think I would have has some edible pearls to put between layers instead of just frosting.

Overall as long as the birthday girl is happy, everyone is happy!
