Cool Homemade 10th Birthday Cake

I wanted to do something special for my son’s 10th birthday. I also wanted something that would be easy and fun. I thought cupcakes are always fun for the kids. I made 2 box cake mix one chocolate and one white. It took 26 cupcakes to make the 10.

I wanted to decorate them all together so that there was no doubt to what it was. I arranged the cupcakes in place and then took a large icing tip to spread out the icing. Once I got the icing in the bag I let it sit in the freezer for about 5 min. It helps in the icing process if the icing stays cool.

I also used the remaining cupcakes as sort of decoration around the cake. I used a star tip to ice the cupcakes and laid them around the 10. My son loved his homemade 10th birthday cake and so did everyone else. Happy Baking
