For this Avengers birthday cake I took ideas from a bunch of different things I saw out there. I decided Hulk needed his own cake and created the look of his cake in fondant dyed brown and cut to look like stones. For the Hawkeye/Thor cake, I made the bow and arrows, targets, and hammers by hand cutting them out of fondant.
The lightening bolts I cut out of sugar paper. For the Ironman/Captain America cake I used circle and star cookie cutters with fondant to make the shields and hand cut Ironman’s face out of sugar paper. For the icing I used cream cheese, but it would probably look better and smooth out with butter cream.
This cake was a HUGE hit at my son’s 5th birthday and was well work the hours I spent on it.
