This Birthday Stars Cake was my second time using fondant and the first time doing a stacked cake. It was pretty easy. First I made 3 different sized rounds. I cut each one in half and filled with cherry filling. Crumb coated and then rolled out the fondant. I rolled it up on the pin and dropped it onto each layer. Then I stacked them.
I didn’t use any dowels because it is a small cake. Hopefully it stands up good. I used a star tip and piped around the base of each cake. I rolled out fondant and used 3 different sized star cookie cutters and just kinda placed them randomly around the cake (making sure to cover any smudges or tears in the fondant).
I used piping gel to write happy birthday on the top and voila!
