This Homemade Camping Birthday Cake is the first cake that I have made to sell to someone! The top round layer is Swiss Chocolate with caramel filling. The square layer is lemon cake with whipped cream & lemon curd filling.
The lady who requested this cake said her husband enjoys camping, among other things, so I decided to go with that theme. From the ice cream cone trees to the fire pit with real marshmallows (I actually cooked them!) and wieners on sticks, this was a labour of love.
I thoroughly enjoyed making this cake, although I must admit, it was fairly labour-intensive!
The water is blue fondant covered with blue coloured piping gel, and there are white crystal sprinkles at the base of the waterfall to make it look frothy.
