Cool Homemade Candy Land Birthday Cake

I made this Candy Land Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. I thought it was very appropriate considering 3 is the age when board games usually start being played.

I used two 9×13 pans, one chocolate and one white, and frosted the entire thing in buttercream icing tinted with a few drops of green food coloring. I used Starburst for the path (but unfortunately couldn’t find any blue or green). I used Reese’s Cups topped with chocolate frosting and filled ice cream cones with vanilla frosting and topped with sprinkles. I randomly made mountains of vanilla icing as filler and different types of sprinkles to differentiate the different areas of the cake.

I would definitely recommend making a trial cake first if you’ve never made a cake before! But this one is fairly simple, just takes a little time to do the decorating! Definitely a big hit with all of the kids, though!
