My son really wanted a dinosaur cake so checked out the dinosaur cakes on this site which gave me lots of great ideas.
I used the two circle cake idea to create this cake as previously mentioned. I used a crumb coat of icing then just iced a second layer over top( much quicker than using an icing bag!). I used chocolate coated wafers for the spine and white chocolate chips for the teeth. The eyes are mini marshmallows with chocolate icing pupils.
Unfortunately his head was a little heavy and started to crack just before the party started, some strategically placed toothpicks and a toy dinosaur under his mouth propped him up! All-in-all this was easier than I expected.
