Cool Homemade Godzilla Scene Birthday Cake

My friend’s son was turning 14 and when I asked him what type of cake he’d like, he said a Godzilla Birthday Cake. So, always up for a challenge, I put on my thinking cap and went to work!

Instead of just the usual cake, I wanted to create a whole scene using cake, cars and a Godzilla toy. I created the street scene using Publsher, printed to poster size, then mounted on foam board. I printed the street signs on cardstock, wrapped toothpicks with foil, then hot-glued them together. The stop lights were made the same way, but I painted the toothpicks black. The trees were made out of sticks and moss. The rest of the scene was finished up using felt and ribbon.

The cakes were chocolate fudge, vanilla and butter cream chocolate with homemade buttercream icing. I always add a box of instant pudding to every cake mix, it makes them so moist and delicious!

This was a really fun project and made her son very happy which is what baking is all about!
