I made this Monkey’s Going Bananas Cake for a friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday party. She told me to make a monkey cake, and this is what I came up with the last minute.
It is a half sheet cake stacked (marbled). Then I took half of a circle mold and baked it to make the island. I iced the island and sprinked the colored sugars OFF of the water cake. I melted some candy chocolate into a monkey mold and let them chill the day before. For the raft I just used a flexable cutting board and drapped chocolate using a fork and let it chill.
The little yellow things are bananas, I just cut a VERY small hole out of a ziplock back put some yeloow icing in it and made cresent shape in the trees and in the monkies hands. The trees I got from a local cake supply store. You can also get them out of an animal bucket if you don’t have a cake supply store.
