Coolest My Little Pony Pinkie Pie Cake

My daughter loves anything My Little Pony, so I made her this My Little Pony Pinkie Pie Cake for her 4th birthday. I used Wilton decorating tips. To make the pony image I traced a picture of a pony from a coloring book onto wax paper, then poked holes with a toothpick along the image outline. I placed the wax paper onto the cake and sprinkled cocoa on it and then used a paintbrush to fill in the holes and make an outline onto the cake for me to follow with icing.

I traced some of the image in black icing and also wrote the wording with a #2 tip. I used a #16 small star tip to fill in the body and face. I decided it would be easier to make the hair by piping it with a #21 large star tip. I also used the large star tip to do the flowers along the edge of the cake She loved it! I have also used the same method to do other cakes, like Caillou.
