I made this poodle cake for my step-daughter’s 9th birthday (as seen in the Australian Woman’s Weekly Kids party Cakes book). I used chocolate cake for this cake and normal cake icing.
I shaped the cake in 5 pieces, 3 circle for feet and tail, body shape and head shape. Freeze the cake to prevent crumbling when icing. Colour incing pink and cover the whole cake. Cover the body (leaving a gap in the middle) with mini white marshmallows.
Cover the feet in mini-white marshmallows also. Normal marshmallows for the tail and ear. Licorice cut into shape for the face details and twisted licorice straps for the legs, tail and ear. Enjoy!
