I made this Homemade Spongebob As A Vampire Cake last year for my sons 2nd birthday. His birthday is in October and so we had a Halloween theme party. He loves Spongebob so much that I decided to combine the two. A lot of the ideas for the cake came from this site and so I wanted to pay you back.
The body was a 13×9 in pan which I cut off a portion of the bottom to make the cape since he is a vampire. For the eyes I used marshmellows cut in half along with tootsie rolls and laughy taffy. I also used marshmellow for the legs and tootsie rolls for his shoes. I used laughy taffy for the color on his socks. The cape has chocolate frosting the marshmellows on his legs are covered in it also. The rest of the cake is whipped vanilla frosting with added almond extract.
It was a big hit, the almond gives it a wedding cake flavor.
