Coolest Spongebob Birthday Cake

I made this Spongebob Birthday Cake for a friend’s son’s 4th birthday party. I printed out a picture of SpongeBob from the internet to use as a guide. I baked two 13 x 9 inch cakes and used chocolate frosting for the filling between the two.

I frosted the bottom part of the cake with chocolate frosting. I used white for the next section which became his shirt. I then tinted some frosting yellow and frosted the upper ¾ of the cake for his face. For the black outline I used chocolate fudge from a jar (the easiest and tastiest way to get true black). I also used fudge for the border at the bottom of the cake. I piped the outline of his shirt, tie, and mouth with the fudge.

I also drew on his belt and filled in the mouth with fudge leaving space for his tongue which I filled in with tinted pink frosting. I bought a tube of red gel to fill in the tie and pipe on his cheeks. I cut two pieces of white fondant out in large circles using an upside down drinking glass as a guide. I also cut out two smaller blue fondant circles for the inside of his eyes. I used a shot glass as a guide for the blue circles. I outlined the eyes, put on his pupils, and eyelashes with the fudge. I also cut out two small pieces of white fondant for his teeth. He looked and tasted really cute!
