I made this Super Mario Birthday Cake for my friend’s son and he seemed to like it. It is not hard to make this cake but it is a little time consuming. The bottom cakes are two 14″ cakes and the top cakes are 8″. I frosted them using the Wilton buttercream recipe. Once they were frosted I added hills on both the top and bottom layer using buttercream dyed green with a Wilton tip.
I added clouds on the top layer only. Since I had extra space on the cake board I decided to get creative and added a path to the cakes and grass all around. The Mario was purchased from Toys R Us along with all the other characters. All the other toys were bought at Hot Topic.
