This is a Super Mario Brothers Birthday Cake Design that I made for my son’s 7th birthday. It is a dark chocolate fudge cake with buttercream and chocolate ganache filling. The mushroom on top is made of rice krispie treats covered with fondant. These are my first gumpaste figures ever. I started about 2 weeks ahead of time on the figures. They are actually a 50/50 combination of fondant and gumpaste.
This was a really fun cake to make and my son enjoyed it!
