This two layer Topsy Turvey Halloween Birthday is covered in homemade fondant and topped with a Wilton Haunted Gingerbread house. Each layer is actually two cakes with Strawberry preserve filling, frosted with buttercream icing and then covered in the fondant. All decorations on the cake are completely edible and are made of fondant, candy, sugar cookies and gingerbread.
The bottom layer is 12″ and top 10″. I wasn’t sure how to ‘attach’ the haunted house so I just placed it on the top layer, cut out a square for it to fit level and then completed by filling in with gumdrops and frosting and additing the spooky sugar cookie tree, bats, and other decorations.
This cake was a lot of fun to make and the birthday girl just loved it!
