Flower Cake for Mother’s Day
I made this cake for Mother’s Day last year and was chuffed with the end result. The cake is a basic Victoria sponge covered with white fondant icing, the poppies and leaves are also fondant icing colored with edible food coloring and molded by hand to form the poppy shapes.
The word mum was made by gently combining white, green and red fondant icing and cut out with alphabet cutters. I kept the cake to a simple design as I thought it was more effective.
