The party theme was pirates, but I couldn’t find any cool decorations so I decided to use my son’s Playmobil pirate toys and just make the Treasure Island Scene cake.
I gathered them up, designed the ship on the water side in blue and placed the land pieces in sand, the tan section.
Because I put candy all over the cake I didn’t have to make the frosting smooth so it was one of the easiest cakes I ever made. We had a ton of fun looking for the candy to decorate and when it came to decorating it got even more fun.
Needless to say, it was a big hit and the kids loved picking out the candy. Whatever your theme, use in house props and decorate with candy, you can’t go wrong.
