Coolest Homemade Cat Cake for an 11th Birthday Girl

I made this Cat Cake for a little girl’s 11th birthday party. I got the idea from a cake I’d seen on this site. I used a yellow cake mix and baked a 6in and 10in cake round. I used the 10in round to make the body and legs, it is held together with homemade french vanilla butter cream. I carved out the body with a small serrated knife then frosted it with the butter cream. I used the 6in round for the head and carved it out and frosted it as well.

I then covered the head and body with mmf and put it together on my cake board. I covered the cake board in mmf as well and used the Wilton ribbon tool and a knife to make the fringe. I then used edible food coloring and lemon extract to hand paint the cat to look like the little girls cat. The tail and facial features are fondant. The mice and milk bow is mmf/gumpaste and put in place.

Hope everyone likes it!!
