Coolest Easy Rapunzel Birthday Cake

I was having my girls’ 5th party at a location other than our house, so I needed a simple cake that I could move easily. I wanted to have a 3D cake like the ones on this website, but wasn’t sure how to move it or keep it fresh before the party, so I made a sheet cake instead and made this Easy Rapunzel Birthday Cake.

Using a butter cake recipe, I baked a half of a sheet cake and a 6″ round cake. I made butter cream frosting and tinted it blue using Wilton’s Royal Blue coloring. I also used Wilton’s Peach coloring as well for Rapunzel’s face, neck, chest, arms and hands.

I iced the entire cake in the blue frosting. Next I sliced the round cake in 1/2 long ways for her face using a picture from a napkin as a guide. I used Wilton’s ready made icings in the tubes for her dress, hair, and flowers.

Really the hardest part of this cake was outlining her figure and dress. It was a delicious cake – very buttery and creamy!
