My friend’s daughter asked me to make a cake for her to take to a Bake sale at school. At first she said she wanted roses, but that scared me because I had not been decorating cakes for very long. So she helped me out and changed her mind to just flowers in general!
This Flower Garden cake was the first cake that I made from scratch and it turned out fine. I was pretty excited to do this cake, because it was right after I received my first set of decorating tips and was an opportunity to use my grass tip!
After the white icing had begun to harden, I used a toothpick to draw my flowers on the cake. I then tried to use pretty bright colors that a little girl would like. I also tried to make a butterfly, but it didn’t turn out so great. Oh well, at least the little girl I made it for loved it!
