Homemade Teapot Birthday Cake

Homemade Teapot Birthday Cake

I made this Teapot Birthday Cake with tips from this site and allrecipes.com for my daughter's second birthday cake. It was one of two cakes that I made for the party. I decided to solve the problem of applying the handle and spout by simply cutting my cake made from a mixing bowl in half and laying it down.

I made the buttercream icing pink and I also made the fondant myself but left it white. This was the first cake I have ever decorated myself so I think it turned out great and was a BIG hit. I made it with strawberry cake mix and the icing was vanilla buttercream. Thanks for the tips. I used biscuit cutters and little bottles to make the different sized circles. I had a blast making it!

How did you do that?

I wanted to ask how you made the top of the teapot? Did you use a cookie or cupcake? I am going to attempt to make this cake, but wanted your tips. Thanks
