I made this Eyeball cake using the ball cake pan. The red is jello. The jello gives it the true blood look. It looks a lot better than red icing. I just poured a little in the bottom of my tray I was using to put the cake on. Put it in the fridge until the jello was hard. Put the cake in the center of the jello.
Then made the eyeball with buttercream icing. The red on the eyeball is more jello. I used a toothpick . I used Halloween witch fingers. I put icing in the fingers to fill them. They were hollow. Used toothpicks to place the fingers in the cake.
I love the way when you picked the cake up it jiggled. The border is buttercream. It was done in black icig. The eye is blue buttercream.
It was my husband's birthday. He had never had a Halloween cake so he chose this eyeball cake.
I found a Pyrex mixing bowl that you could bake in. It was the perfect shape and used only one cake mix. It was Red Velvet, with White Icing. For the color I used the blue pre-mixed icing and just randomly laid it on.
I used an Oreo Cookie for the pupil. The blood shot portion was done with the fine tip and it too was from a pre-mixed Red that I bought at the store. He loved it.
I work at an eye Dr and made this Homemade Eyeball Cake for us for Halloween. Was a hit! Really got everyone into the Halloween spirit
Simple MM fondant and molding chocolate was used with gel food coloring. Inside is regular yellow cake and then the very center is red velvet cake. This was made with my bake n fill pan (my absolute favorite pan these days)!
The bloody laceration on the eye was actually a booboo (cake ripped apart in the pan) but I made it work and I think gave it more ewww factor!
My 8 year old son wanted to have a "GROSS" birthday party so we had some gross activities and I made him this gross eye ball cake.
It was actually really simple. I baked the cake in a glass bowl so that it would be round. The cake was iced in white, the center is an Oreo cookie and the veins are red licorice which I cut in thin pieces.
