Cool BMW R69S Birthday Cake

My dad is an avid motorcycle enthusiast. His favorite bike of all time is the BMW r69s. So for his 60th birthday, I made him a BMW r69s cake! It’s a chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream frosting. I used a picture of the bike to make it as close as possible, and drew the bike on the crumb coating with a toothpick first, then began the actual decoration. I used Wilton tips and a standard butter cream recipe (the chocolate cake recipe is my personal secret!) Here’s the butter cream recipe:

Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks or 1/2 pound), softened (but not melted!) Ideal texture should be like ice cream.
3-4 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar, SIFTED
1/4 teaspoon table salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Up to 4 tablespoons milk or heavy cream

I used sprinkles to make the BMW logo on the gas tank, and for the orange light on the handlebars. The tail light is a piece of a Maraschino cherry.
