I made this Dora the Explorer cake for a client. I made 12 cupcakes and a 6″ cake.
The cupcakes and cake were a chocolate cake mix. The icing was a C&H Sugar buttercream recipe. I tinted the icing in pink and yellow. I made stars with faces out of MM fondant for the cupcake toppers.
I made the tiny stars, DORA, and Dora’s face out of fondant also. I took a picture of her face, that I had printed off the computer, and cut it out of fondant with an exacto knife. I then pieced it all together and let it dry overnight. I piped the icing on the cupcakes using tip#12. I crumb frosted the cake, finished icing it and piped the bead boarder.
