I asked my daughter what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday. She told me she wanted a “Duck Cake”. So this is what I came up with.
I started with store bought cake mix and white icing. I tinted the icing with food coloring. First I put the blue icing in the corner area for the pond. Then I covered the rest of the cake with green icing. I piped along the border of the blue and green to make shrubs and hide the color change area. I also put those blue crystal sprinkles in the “pond” to make it pretty.
I used the pipe again for grass around the cake and put some sugar flowers on top. I put a rubber duck on top for the finishing touch. My daughter loved it and my family was very impressed!
