Coolest Indiana Jones Rides Again Cake

My boy had been watching the Indian Jones movies and was really into them. So when it started getting close the his birthday and I needed to know what kind of cake, he said an Indiana Jones Rides Again Cake. I love thinking of something special they will love and I can show my Grandma that used to make birthday and wedding cakes for people in the community. I’m the only one in the family that made cakes like my grandma. So I started the tradition of making cakes for my kids. And I love doing it.

So I started looking for things to use. I found the huts, canon, and trees and action figures. Indiana always shows a map of where he’s going in the movies. So I had to put a map in somehow. I had no idea really of how I was going to put this together but I work better under pressure. I had some fondant and used it for map and I tinted it to make it look old.

This is one of my favorite cakes! And he thought it was so awesome. The only thing I didn’t like about the cake was the fondant. It was the first time I ever worked with it. It did fine and tinted fine. But when cutting the cake it pulled all the icing off and I didn’t think it tasted to good.

  4. I don’t think you are supposed to eat the fondant. There should be a layer of butter cream under it and the fondant should be peeled off when you cut it before you place it on the guest’s plate.

  6. Love your cake very creative and tells a story I also did an Idiana Jones Cake for my son, and for his las couple of birthdays I’ve been using chocolate fondant it’s differnt to work with than regular fondant because you can make it thiner and it tastes great but you have to be more precise because it does not like to be handled to much. you can buy it on line or you can do your own recipe I saw the recipe also online. Keep doing beautiful cakes!
