For this Lock Cake I made a 9in round 2 layer cake and covered it in gray fondant, using black icing color (if you color fondant ahead of time and wrap it and let it set you can get a good uniform color). I wanted black but it wouldn’t happen, so I used the gray and decided to make it a lock. I did the numbers in butter cream and colored the black part with icing colors, molded the turn nob out of fondant as well.
