I made this Soccer Ball Cake for my son’s end-of-the-season soccer party. It was so much fun and a big hit with the team! I created my own fondant for the first time. It was easy to make and tasted much better than store-bought.
The cake was made with a Wilton soccer ball pan and two round pans shaped to resemble a cone (+ sturdy dowels). Used tips #16 and #4 to pipe the ball/orange tint + black tube frosting (not bitter like tint). I highly recommend doing the star piping in stages as it’s a bit rough on your hand/arm muscles.
