Coolest Solar System Cake

This was a challenge, I made the planets from rice krispie treats, colored each in fondant then brushed them so they would shine.

I thought someone might be interested, I searched online and could find nothing that helped me with this solar system cake.

  1. I was searching online for some idea of a solar system cake, couldn’t find anything. I see your cake and it floored me. I knew then that I wanted this cake. Thanks for the idea cause it doesn’t seem the word accommodates to children that want more than barbie. thanks again for the wonderful idea and if i could get you to make it for my daughter that would be even better.

  3. what did you make the sun out of? I am planning on using a 5 inch Styrofoam ball with fondant icing but I’m not sure if I can make the spikes of the sun out of fondant.

  4. I love your cake… I have been looking for ideas for awhile now and can’t find anything. I am going to go with this, but planning on using big gumballs for the planets to make it easier. What did you hang your planets with? Thanks for sharing your cake!
