Coolest Spongebob Birthday Cake Idea

I wanted to make a really cool cake for my boyfriend’s 18th birthday, and after much deliberation decided to make a Spongebob Birthday Cake Idea.

I made a 13×9 yellow cake (I figured yellow was essential) and purchased two cans of regular white icing. I googled a picture and found one that seemed simple enough to replicate, so I used it as my guide. I dyed part of the frosting yellow and frosted the entire cake. I went back and added the white for the shirt, teeth, and eyes. I did the same for the pants, tie, and rest of the details.

When I was finished applying the basic colors I went back and piped some frosting that I dyed black around the edges of the cake to give him that spongy, whimsical look. I also outlined most of his features. I decided against adding arms and legs, mainly because I didn’t have the materials!
