Coolest Spongebob Cake

I made this Spongebob cake for my friend’s son. I made 4 9 in. square cakes and cut them accordingly. I made two vanilla and two chocolate.

I covered them first with yellow fondant. Then I added the brown fondant for the pants over top of the yellow so it would over lap. Before adding the fondant though, I used a melon baller to make the holes in Spongebob. I punched out green to set down in the whole area. I didn’t cut the yellow I just put the green on top.

All the black lines on the face are black food coloring. The pant legs are round chocolate coated cupcakes that are cut. The arms, legs and nose is all pretzel rods wrapped in fondant. The tie is a fruit strip. The army hat is a 8 in round that I cut part of the bottom off of and then applied green fondant .

I just used 2 different colors of green! This is a layered cake. That’s why I made 4 cakes. The hands are all fondant also. I had so much fun doing this cake. All my kids love Spongebob and I see it on the TV all the time! Can’t wait to make another one!
