I made two 9 inch cakes and two smaller cakes on top for this Super Mario Brothers Birthday Cake. I then frosted the cakes and covered them in blue fondant. I made the mushrooms and stars out of fondant and mixed black gel food coloring with vodka to make the eyes. I discovered that if you use a wooden new manicure stick it is the perfect size for the eyes.
I covered the board with a brick colored fondant and used a template to get the shape and brushed some edible yellow dust on it. I did the same thing for the sign on top of the cake. I also piped some green grass using a star tip and added Mario brother toys to give it the over all look.
That is so great!Man you must be a cake artist!If you have any birthday ideas because my daughter really wants a super Mario themed birthday party so if you could write back on here that would be great!So anything like decorations like Mario karts or cakes would be fab!
