My niece recently celebrated her 16th birthday and her Mum asked if i could do her cake. After a conversation with her I discovered that she is really loving the hippie era (also the theme of her party) and the VW van so her mother and I agreed that this would make the perfect cake. We couldnt decide which of her two flavour cakes to make so I combined the two and made 2 choc banana “cake” loaves, and placed one upside down on the other with butter cream to form the van, then gave it a coating of butter cream and then two different coloured fondant icings. I made all the windows, wheels, lights etc with coloured fondant.
She loved her Homemade VW Van Cake.
