I made this Jack Daniels Birthday Cake for a good friend of mine who is a die hard Jack fan, it was his 50th birthday. This was one of my first cakes I ever made. It was made with yellow cake and I brushed on a pint of Jack Daniels when it had cooled down.
It took about four bottles of food coloring to get the frosting a true black and I made my letters out of gumpaste which I have also learned how to make myself. One thing I have learned with gumpaste is to make at least a week in advance in order for it do dry with color changes and breakage you must make two to three times as many pieces.
I used a logo but did my piping freehand so its not perfect. I made the cake a day in advance and frosted it and let it set in the fridge. The only downfall to a black cake was everyone's black tongue!

For my friend's 40th I made him a 40oz cake. I took inspiration from his favorite drink, a Cuba Libra. I set up the bottle, an actual cocktail and lime as my model to make this Navy Rum Cake.
The bottle is 2, 6x4 inch round cakes. I also made an 8 inch round cake that I cut up to make the rest of the ensemble. Once the bottle was together I put a dowel rod through the middle so the cake would be more sturdy. It is iced completely with buttercream icing. In hindsight, I would have done the bottle in fondant and iced the details with buttercream.
This Jameson Whiskey Birthday Cake was baked in rectangle cake tin. I cut out the cake in a shape of a bottle using a Jameson bottle printout from the internet and used butter cream for icing.
The label I printed a Jameson bottle from internet then and enlarged to size and cut out the label and top of bottle. Glued the cut outs to grease proof paper and placed on top of cake. Used writing nozzle with icing to cover the edges of labels.
I made this Pepsi Cake for a Pepsi-aholic's 40th birthday.
9x13 cake carved in the shape of the Pepsi bottle. I covered the cake with Wilton's chocolate decorating icing, then used fondant for the lid and label. The letters were made by placing wax paper over an actual label and tracing them with melted fondant/writing icing.
I baked one 2/3 sheet cake and carved the bottle shape, then iced it with buttercream icing, wrapped the bottle neck in black fondant, then created the label with gumpaste. I then drew on the specifics with edible markers. Everyone loved this Ketel One Vodka Birthday Cake Design!
