Coolest Pot Of Gold Birthday Cake

This Pot Of Gold Birthday Cake is my grandson’s first birthday cake. I made this from a 9″ cake, layers piled on top of each other. Sometimes I had to use wooden dowels to hold together if cake is tall.

I iced between each layer and around sides to give a nice coating then rolled out my fondant which I dyed with Green food coloring and applied rolled fondant onto cake layers and smoothed it out. I then cutout a piece of cardboard into the shape of the rainbow I wanted and then I layered with fondant.

I then hand painted each color onto the rainbow. It was secured to cake with small dowels for no movement. I then added gold colored butter creme for texture and topped with choc gold coins and clear glitter flakes and added decorations that I purchased at a local craft store during the St.Patrick holiday’s to give it the extra added touch.

These where gently applied with a little icing to bottom of each Lepricorn.
