I was pregnant with my second child, second baby girl! Despite the fact that I was 8 months pregnant, taking care of a toddler, as well as planning party and birth, I managed to pull of my best work. This Ladybug baby shower cake was a 10×4 inch strawberry banana cake in which I colored the banana a neon green so that every slice matched the theme colors, a pink strawberry with neon banana.
Of course, every pregnant girl’s craving, you just gotta have that chocolate! I made 50 chocolate cupcakes! On top of the 10×4 inch cake sat a soccer ball pan, round cake and then I began making the lady bug come to life! The head was made of rice krispies covered in fondant. The baby was not something I had time to make so it was something bought which would sit on top of the ladybug. I had to put it in front so that we can see what it looked like. I also managed to squeeze in about 30 baby shower sugar cookies in the two baskets in the background. I really loved the colors! I didn’t want the usual red and black bug, it was just better this way, I think.
